Our Gunflint Trail Weather Guy reported only a mere 2.4 inches of rain for the month of June at mid-trail. Luckily at the end of the Trail we received a bit more than that and the first blueberries of the season are ready for picking. The weather has been incredibly gorgeous this summer and the first week of July followed suit. We did get .2 inches of rain on the 3rd of July and a nice shower last night but other than that it has been blue skies and sunny days. Anyone who was up for a canoe trip or vacation over the 4th was treated to some great paddling and camping weather. We’ll hope for more of the same and a little bit more rain to keep the fire danger in check.
