Ontario’s Outdoors Card
Planning to fish in Ontario this summer? The Outdoors Card is now required in addition to a fishing license. The cost is $9.00 and it is good for three years. I’d like to find someone willing to process the licenses online and then mail them to our guests. This person will hopefully have their website up and running soon otherwise you can read about other options below.
Currently, non-resident Outdoors Cards and fishing licences are not available online. They can be purchased through licence issuers throughout the province such as sporting goods stores as well as bait and tackle shops. Non-resident fishing licences are also available through the mail by calling the Natural Resources Information Centre at 1-800-667-1940, by fax at 705-755-1677 or by e-mail at mnr.nric.mnr@ontario.ca.
When ordering non-resident fishing licences by mail, please allow 5 to 6 weeks for delivery.
The following information is required to place an order: full name, address, telephone number, date of birth, height and eye color. Please specify what type of licence you would like to purchase (If purchasing an 8 day licence, please specific the date).
All anglers and hunters, including non-residents, need a unique identification number for this system to work properly. For that reason, MNR has introduced a non-resident Outdoors Card, effective January 1, 2009. The non-resident Outdoors Card will be similar to the existing resident Outdoors Card and will be required to purchase an
fishing licence, except for the one-day licence. Ontario
A list of licence issuers may be available from your local MNR office; a list of contact information is available at http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/ContactUs/2ColumnSubPage/STEL02_179002.html.
MNR offices can also be reached by calling the toll free number below and requesting a transfer.
