Canoeing in Missouri

We had the opportunity to spend a week at Ozark Outdoors in Missouri this past week and what a great experience it was.  We brought a group of youth to Missouri for a Mission Trip and the folks at Ozark Outdoors were our gracious hosts.

We had wonderful accommodations on the Meramec River on the spacious grounds of Ozark Outdoors.  The females in our group got to spend their nights in the beautiful lodge suite while the boys stayed in nice individual cabins. We were all comfortable and had plenty of space to play when we weren’t working or sleeping.

We were able to take a day canoe trip and paddled 10 miles.  We started on the Huzzah and then into the Meramec where we took out right at the beach at Ozark Outdoors.  There were no other groups on the river and it was beautiful and quiet, with the exception of our enthusiastic group of paddlers.

The weather cooperated quite nicely with the temperature up into the 70’s and the sun shining brightly.  The water was a bit chilly but that didn’t stop members of our group of swimming.  We paddled canoes and kayaks and switched off so everyone got a little bit of each.

If you’re looking for a great place to paddle and stay when you’re in Missouri then be sure to check out Ozark Outdoors, you’ll be glad you did.
