No More Fire Restrictions in the Boundary Waters

Campfires are allowed anytime in the BWCA once again. The partial burning ban has been lifted and all areas of the Boundary Waters are open for camping and travel.  Cooler temperatures and precipitation over the past week helped to alleviate fire danger.

The USFS checked on the fire Wednesday, September 26th and saw no open flames. Some smoke was visible primarily at the north and west end of the fire.  The USFS says there isn’t a threat to the American border.

This is great news for those folks looking to canoe and camp in the Boundary Waters yet this season. The forecast for this weekend looks awesome with temperatures in the 60’s and abundant sunshine. Come enjoy the fall colors and a campfire any time during the day.
