Moose Madness and More

It isn’t as if you need a reason to visit Voyageur this fall, but just in case you do, here are a couple of special occasions to consider.

Moose Madness begins on Wednesday of this coming week and continues through Sunday.  There are special events happening in Grand Marais and there’s always the opportunity to see moose on the Gunflint Trail.  Mamma Cow and her two calves have been hanging around the moose pond the past couple of weeks and they are more than cooperative to pose for a photo.  We still have one of our lodge units available and would love to see you up here.

Moose Madness, October 19-21 has become an annual event, a wonderful time for families to enjoy Grand Marais during the teachers’ conventions. Murray the Moose is always around town, looking for photo opportunities (he’s friendlier than most of his relatives), and downtown Grand Marais is bustling with activities, contests, prizes, a medallion hunt, restaurant specials, tours up the Gunflint Trail for moose-spotting – in other words, it’s for fun-and-moose-seekers of all ages. Make your lodging reservations now for the last extended weekend of the fall, and watch for details for the events, including the moose essay and poetry writing contests – winners are published in our local papers. You could be famous!

How about another reason to visit Voyageur?  If you know of a woman that would like to get away for a girl’s weekend then let her know about Doe Camp.  The 2nd Annual Doe Camp is coming up this November 1-4th and there’s room to stay at Voyageur.

Doe Camp, November 1-4 is for women who AREN’T applying for deer permits this season! This is NE Minnesota’s most unusual hunting season in Lutson, Tofte, Grand Marais and the Gunflint Trail. Highlights include the gondola ride at Lutsen Mountains for lunch and a fashion show, a wine and game dinner, poker night, yoga class, massage…it all adds up to a special camp experience with comfortable accommodations and a great time with your female friends. The package price, beginning at $299, includes 3 nights’ lodging, activities and most meals, and more information can be found at www.grandmarais.com/doecamp.
