Love Winter on the North Shore
When the forecast calls for a blast of warm weather in February I don’t get excited. I actually get a little bit mad because I don’t want the snow to melt even a little bit. I enjoy the outdoor recreational opportunities the snow gives us and want to enjoy them for a couple more months.
There are still a few things I want to do yet this winter. I’ve gone snowshoeing a few times and cross-country skiing but I still want to do more. I also want to go ice fishing, snowmobiling and downhill skiing.
The hockey season is down to play-offs. This weekend is Districts next weekend is Regions, if we win we’ll go to State, but if not, then we’re done. That would be bad for the hockey team but it would give us a little more free time to enjoy our snow.
We’ll have snow on the Gunflint Trail for quite some time and this warm up won’t take it all away. And I am fine with that because I love winter when there is snow to enjoy it.
