Fishing Opener Suprisingly Good on the Gunflint Trail

Before the opener I was a bit concerned about how the fishing was going to be.  I needn’t have worried as it’s been suprisingly good.  Folks have been catching all sorts of fish including smallmouth bass, northern pike, walleye and lake trout.

Yesterday was quite windy on Saganaga so there wasn’t too much fishing done there in the afternoon.  Our neighbors on the Gunflint Trail had a great day while they braved the wind and caught and released a 22", 24" and a 29" walleye as well as a 42" northern.

There are plenty of fish out there just waiting to be caught.  How about coming up to Voyageur this week to try your luck?  We’d love to see you here.
