Fisherman’s Picnic

It’s hard to believe Fisherman’s Picnic is here.   It’s the biggest party of the year in Grand Marais with activitites going on day and night beginning today!  If you are looking for something to do then head to Grand Marais for a weekend of fun.

There will be activities for people of all ages during Fisherman’s Picnic.  There will be the normal Bingo Games, Loon Calling Contest, Kid’s Rides, Cutest Puppy Contest, live music, food eating contests, the Trail Run, tennis tournament, big fish contest, softball tournament and much more.  The annual ECFE Pancake Breakfast will be held on Friday and Saturday morning to help support worthwhile activities for ages birth to 5-years old.  This year the Hoopin in the Harbor 3 on 3 basketball tournament will be back along with the lumberjack camp.

You may remember reading about some special fun we had at the beach on Sunday.  We were happily surprised to have Jessica’s log rolling log to practice our lumber jack and lumber jill skills on.  We had lots of laughs, splashes and bruises by the time we left but I’m hoping it’s enough experience to get my kids out during the amateur log rolling contest during the Fisherman’s Picnic.

There will be fireworks and the parade and the ever famous Fish Burgers.  It’s a great time to be in Grand Marais so come on up and join in the fun of Fisherman’s Picnic 2008.
