Fall Color Forecast Looks Good

I read an article that says we’re going to have good fall colors this year. Maybe.  The article explains that no area in Minnesota is considered to be in a drought so that is a good indicator of good fall colors.  We’ll have even better fall colors if we continue to get rain, if we don’t get a hard freeze and if we have warm sunny days.

There are lots of “ifs” involved in the fall color forecast. Another big factor is when the wind decides to blow and how hard. The wind can change the scene quite quickly.  We have some colors on the Gunflint Trail and it will continue to get more beautiful each day.

You can check the status of the fall colors by looking at the website the DNR provides for the  fall color map, found at dnr.state.mn.us/fall_colors/index.html.
