Dragons are Coming

     This weekend the Dragon Boats are coming for the Annual Dragon Boat Festival in Grand Marais.  I can’t wait to get out and paddle in the Harbor and experience the thrill of dragon boating once again.     

  This year I will be paddling with a team supporting the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department.  There will be a number of us who are current members, some past members and some future members as well.

     Friday is the start of the Dragon Boat Festival with team practices, a parade and the opening ceremony.  Saturday morning the races begin and dragons will be cruising the Harbor in Grand Marais all day long.  

     Last year Pink Paddles sponsored the boat and a great time was had by all.  If you’re in Grand Marais this weekend then be sure to give a cheer for the Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department as we attempt to paddle to a victory!
