Dog Gone in the Boundary Waters
I can’t imagine losing my dog on a trip in the Boundary Waters. I’m not sure my dog Rugby would ever run away from me as he’s normally beneath my feet and nearly attached to my ankles. Dogs do go missing every once in awhile and it’s a sad thing. If you have seen or know anything about this missing dog then please contact the owner and keep your eyes open if you happen to visit the area.
I’m writing to ask for help getting the word out about a missing dog who belongs to my neighbors.
JJ was in the BWCA with a family friend. The two went in on the Sawbill Trail at Grand Marais. During a storm last Wednesday morning (July 17), JJ freaked out and ran. He was at the portage near Cherokee Creek and Skoop Lake when he bolted. He’s still missing.
This was JJ’s third trip to the BWCA with the family friend. He’s a great and good dog.
He’s about 35 lbs. Border Collie mix. Neutered. He’s 4 years old. Red collar. Microchipped. He’s timid, so if someone sees him, they might need to coax him with food and gentle patience.
Please do anything you can to help spread the word. His family loves him, and I love dogsitting for him. He’s the sweetest peanut.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness and help. Please help us bring JJ home.
