Cross-Country Skiing Finally

With an ankle injury in December and freezing cold temperatures this winter I had not been out on my cross-country skis until today. Finally, a full week into February  I was able to go out cross-country skiing.  The only downside to the story is I wasn’t skiing on the Gunflint Trail, or in Cook County and not even in Minnesota.

I went skiing near Hayward, Wisconsin where Josh has a hockey tournament this weekend.  It was 7 above with the sun shining and the trail was in perfect condition. It was so nice to be outside enjoying the winter wonderland. Oak trees replaced pine trees but other than that the scenery was quite similar.

Now that I have tested my ankle on the trails and got a taste of cross-country skiing again I don’t think there will be anything stopping me from getting on the Trails a little closer to home.  Anything except for life, basketball, hockey and all of the other things that seem to occupy my time…
