Cross Country Ski Trails are Open

While trail conditions may not be perfect right now there are at least some cross-country ski trails to ski on. There are a few trails open in the Central Gunflint Trail area near Golden Eagle and Bearskin and there are some up at Gunflint Lake open as well.

The best advice for those who are looking for a place to cross-country ski is to check with area resorts before heading out onto the trail.  You’ll want to make sure you check in before skiing on the Gunflint Trail because you’ll need to purchase a ski pass.

The trails on the Gunflint are maintained privately and are not Minnesota State trails. Please purchase a pass prior to skiing to help keep our trails cleared and groomed.  And keep thinking snow as the trails can always use another good dumping of the white stuff.
