Cold and Dark

This is the time of the year when it takes forever for the sun to rise and when it finally does it starts to dip almost in the blink of an eye. Today Josh had a two o’clock hockey game and when it was over it was almost dark outside.  First light tomorrow is at 6:55 am and the sun doesn’t rise until 7:30 am.  Less than 9 hours later the sun sets at 4:11 pm.

Today there was  beautiful blue sky and it looked really nice outside. I decided to take a walk and realized it was bitterly cold outside. There wasn’t much of a wind but the cold was biting as the thermometer hovered around 3 degrees.

Tonight the temperature is forecasted to dip down into the negative teens with a wind chill of -35 degrees. The high for tomorrow is expected to be in the single digits above zero and then back into the teens for the rest of the week.

I would like to get some snow as long as we have cold temperatures. I’m ready to go cross-country skiing and the kids want to get the snowmobiles out.  It doesn’t look like we’ll get snow this week, but we can always hope.
