Canoe Registration
We often have guests who want to paddle their own canoe in the Boundary Waters. Some of their home states do not require them to register a canoe, but in order to paddle it in Minnesota, it must be registered. People have the option of registering it in their state, even if it isn’t required, or registering it in the State of Minnesota. Our guests who get a tow through the BWCA in order to begin their trip in Canada do not need to have their canoes registered. However, if they will paddle through Minnesota to get to Canada, then they will need to have their canoe registered. If you have questions about whether or not your canoe must be registered then please feel free to call us toll free, 1-888-CANOEIT.
