Campsites in the BWCA

The wilderness rangers are making their rounds through the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. In the process they have identified a few things visitors should know.

1) Site #6 on Tuscarora (island site) is temporarily closed due to a hazardous latrine condition related to the recent rainfall.  Crews will try to take a look at it next week to assess if water levels have dropped enough to allow for the site to be reopened.

#2)  Due to recent rainfall, the rapids between Mora and Little Saganaga are creating very hazardous conditions for canoeists.  Visitors traveling over the portage between Mora and Little Saganaga need to use extreme caution when approaching the canoe landings from either side of the portage.

#3) Campsite #19 on Little Saganaga is temporarily closed due to an abundance of hazard trees.
