Bummer for a Bull Moose

Thankfully the driver and passenger in a vehicle that struck a moose on the Gunflint Trail were uninjured. Unfortunately the bull moose was killed.

According to Cook County Sheriff’s Office the accident took place near the Moose Viewing area on the Gunflint Trail.  The 29-year old driver from Grand Marais rounded a corner, saw the moose in the road, attempted to slow down, thought the moose was going to walk off of the road but the moose remained in the road and the vehicle struck and killed the moose.
