4th of July

While there are not fireworks going on in the BWCA it doesn’t mean you won’t see any sparks.  We experienced a thunderstorm with lightening strikes the other day and anytime that happens you can have a fire start if the conditions are right.  There was a report on Sunday afternoon of smoke on an island on Seagull Lake in the BWCA and in Ross Lake just outside of the Quetico Park.  The other day when Mike was out in the boat he came across a tree that was in flames from a lightening strike.  Luckily the fire danger is still moderate and we keep getting more and more rain so the chance of a wildfire spreading is quite low.  We hope we won’t be seeing any big fire in the near future up here, and we hope you will have a wonderful and safe 4th of July Holiday.
