Wenonah Wonder Man

     We love Wenonah Canoes and it’s founder Mike Cichanowski.  He is an incredible man and just happens to be Mike Prom’s Vice-President in the Paddlesport Industry Association(formerly named PPA).  We’re very pleased to announce the most recent accomplishment of Mike Cichanowski and hope you will take the time to read the article found in the Winona Daily News about this great man.

On Saturday, Cichanowski will be awarded the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award, one of scouting’s highest honors, for his contribution to the canoe and kayak industry. Of more than 1.8 million Eagle Scouts, fewer than 1,700 have received the Distinguished award for lifetime achievement in their field. Among them are the late President Gerald Ford, Neil Armstrong, Donald Rumsfeld and Steven Spielberg.

     Mike is an awesome person and we consider ourselves lucky to know him.  He has been living a life true to his nature and when he was asked to describe himself in three words he said, "Born to Paddle."  I believe he was born to paddle since he has been racing and building canoes for the past 40 years.  We are grateful for all of his contributions to the paddlesport industry and thank him for his years of dedication.
