Fast Forward
It feels like someone has hit the fast forward button on the video player. After dropping the kids off at the bus stop today I went on a quick jog. I was surprised to see the sun up so high it was getting in my eyes. The summer solstice is approaching quickly and the wildflowers seem to be stuck in fast forward mode too.
There are new wildflowers blooming on the roadside almost daily. One minute there were marsh marigolds and now there are flowers everywhere; wild roses, purple vetch, star flowers, wild strawberries, iris and more. The air is filled with the fragrant smell of flowers in bloom.
Things are moving along and the end of school for the kids is almost here. Thank goodness. I'm looking forward to being able to sleep in past 5:30am and I know the kids are anxious for summer too. If someone will just hit the play or pause button long enough for me to catch up then that would be great. I want to be able to get out on some canoe trips, hike some trails and savor summer while it's here.
